Context and Guidance: In order to effectively treat identified risks, it is important that risk governance structures are in place and include regular review of identified cybersecurity risks.

This may include:

  • Validating the appropriateness of inherent and residual risk ratings (including likelihood and consequence ratings);
  • Validating risk treatment approaches (planned and current), and;
  • Reviewing control effectiveness.
